Here we are in a new year already and I took a look here and realized it's been a while since I posted some pictures for you. Things are rolling along at a steady pace, I quilt one quilt and it goes home and another one arrives. Things are different than they used to be when we were Flamingo Quiltworx, there were quilts in the closet and hanging on the shower rod and some waited for me for months. It was stressful. Now there is no need for a quilt to be patient because there is no waiting..... and very little stress. Contentedness I guess.
This was one I made up for a class sample. I usually teach a basic bargello classs. My class is to make a baby quilt from 16 fat eighths, giving you the confidence to design your own Bargello quilt. No one, ever in the history of my class, makes a baby quilt..... we have had placemats, and larger quilts (up to King) but never a baby quilt. Anyhow, I said I could teach my class and they asked if I would teach this one. Great students made for a fun day and they all had plans to customize the applique portion... maybe one will get used as a baby quilt.
This Hawaiian quilt was beautifully hand appliqued by Judy, a project that took a few years to complete.
